The snowshoe Trail is marked with orange poles and is packed down. Snowshoes are required to hike the trail, no foot traffic or skis are allowed. Snowshoes are available to loan during Visitor Center hours for a suggested donation of $5. No pets are allowed on the trail.
Follow the orange snow poles to explore a 1 mile Snowshoe Loop Trail through the monument or venture off of the winter trails and climb a cinder cone. Snowshoe Walks are scheduled on Saturdays and Sundays in January and February and no prior snowshoe experience is required. The Craters of the Moon Natural History Association has snowshoes available for loan at the visitor center for a suggested $5 donation. Donations are accepted for the upkeep of the equipment.
